✍️ Blog Part 4: The Dream I Sewed – and the Country I Now Call Home

With my nursing career re-established and our family settled in Whangārei, I found myself drawn to another dream — one that had been quietly growing inside me for years. I wanted to create something of my own, a brand that reflected my creativity, warmth, and love for beautiful, practical things.

That’s how HeySewCute was born. What started as a small creative outlet soon grew into a brand that I poured my heart into. Each piece I made or curated carried a piece of my journey, a reflection of the resilience and joy that had brought us this far.

As our roots in New Zealand grew deeper, we faced another decision: citizenship. For a long time, we hesitated, not wanting to let go of our Korean nationality. Our family was still there, and it was a part of who we were. But over time, New Zealand became more than just a place we lived — it became our home. A few years ago, we took that step and became citizens, embracing this beautiful country that gave us a second chance at life.

HeySewCute is not just a brand; it’s a celebration of that journey, a blend of my heritage and the new life we’ve built here. Thank you for being a part of this story and for supporting a dream that started on the other side of the world and found its home here in New Zealand.
