✍️ Blog Part 6: A Pause, A Flight, and A Fresh Start

✍️ Blog Part 6: A Pause, A Flight, and A Fresh Start

October 2025

Before I left for Korea, I was completely burnt out.
Running a small business alone means wearing every hat — maker, photographer, packer, marketer, accountant.
There were days I felt like I was running on empty, trying to keep everything moving, all by myself.

When my flight date finally approached, I realised I needed to stop — completely.
No sewing, no marketing, no planning. Just… pause.

So I packed my bags and flew home to Korea.
It had been years since I’d spent real, unhurried time with my parents.
We cooked, talked, laughed — and for the first time in a long while, I wasn’t thinking about orders or emails.

Something inside me softened.
I remembered why I started HeySewCute in the first place —
to create with joy, not pressure.

Coming back to New Zealand felt different this time.
I was rested. Recharged. Inspired.
Fresh ideas began to flow again — from new handmade designs to a complete website renewal.
It’s like breathing new air into my little brand.

As the market season begins again, I’m setting new intentions.
At the upcoming markets, I’ll be focusing mainly on my handmade collections —
the pieces that started it all.

Meanwhile, custom photo magnets and retail products will be available exclusively online,
so those who’ve been waiting can easily find them through the refreshed website.

During my trip, I also discovered some beautiful, high-quality fabrics in Korea.
I brought back a few samples, and I can’t wait to create something special with them for the next market.
I’m curious to see how people respond — and that curiosity feels exciting again.

Sometimes, stepping away is what helps you see clearly.
This trip reminded me that rest isn’t a waste of time —
it’s what allows creativity to bloom again.

So here’s to a new season — of balance, beauty, and fresh beginnings. 🌸

Stay tuned — in my next blog, I’ll share the upcoming market schedule and what I’ll be bringing along.
